Today we went to the Carnavalet Museum. Click here for the official website. When there click on EN in the upper right hand corner for the English version. This is the museum of Paris with a whole gamut of exhibits about the history of Paris. located in over 100 rooms, many of them rather small. The first room of the visit has a number of interesting items including signs that were posted in the street to tell what each building housed since there were no street numbers at the time.  There are also several to scale models of some of the well-known neighborhoods of Paris.

Here are several other photos. I took about two dozen. The first shows two representations of actors from the middle ages.

Then the bedroom of Proust.

Then one example of hundreds of objets d'art. a clock with many functions.

Finally, two photos of the gardens within the buildings.

After the museum, we walked over several blocks to the rue de Turenne where we had a drink at the Royale Turenne café.

At seven o'clock we walked a block up the street to the Café des Musées, one of our favorite places to have dinner.

We had a fine meal, as always there, and then walked back to the apartment. We had a lovely day, although the warm weather has finally disappeared, and there is a slight chill of Fall in the air.
