We have been back in Paris now for three days. We left Scheggino on Sunday morning at 7:30 am and after a short bus ride to Spoleto, a long train ride to Rome, a short train ride out to the airport, a two hour plane trip to Paris and an hour (heavy traffic) taxi ride, we arrived at the apartment at about 8:30 pm. Thirteen hours to get back "home" whereas we took almost two days to get there, granted at a more leisurely pace.

Both Monday and Tuesday were days of relaxing and resting after a very strenuous eight days of rehearsals, concerts, and sightseeing, therefore nothing much to report. However, on Wednesday, we regained our strength and went to the Paris Hôtel de Ville (city hall) where we went to a very interesting exhibit entitled in English August 1944, Liberation, The Fight for Freedom. It was a display of  newspapers, photos, videos and memorabilia of the liberation of Paris from August 20 to August 26. Much of it dealt with city hall and the area around it, which made it very appropriate for the exhibit to be where it was.  You may see more on Facebook by clicking here

After 2 hours of a fascinating exhibition, we went across the street to a café opposite the city hall and also the famous department store, BHV Marais where we had a bite.

The house iced tea and a delicious chocolate pear tart

We ate at home in the evening.
